This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The students at my elementary school are hardworking, motivated students who love to learn and explore in the library. My school is a Title I school, which consists of students in grades PreK-5th grade. My school also hosts many special needs program, including programs for students with specific behavioral needs and mental and physical handicaps. Hands-on, meaningful learning is key to learning with all students, but especially those who may not get these opportunities at home. Donating to my project will mean the world to so many of my students!
My Project
Students in my school LOVE to learn about animals. Animal books are the most requested and the most checked out books in the library. Unfortunately, most of our animal books are also the most outdated and loved books in the library.
I would love to add more updated animal resources to my school library collection so that students will have something new and exciting to check out in the nonfiction section.
I guarantee that if you give to this project, the books will be loved by all of my students, from kindergarten to 5th grade, for many years to come!
