This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school, many of my students are faced with challenges, both in and out of the classroom. Added to this is the fact that the group of students I teach all have intellectual, and often times coupled with, physical disabilities. Despite their many challenges, these teens come to school every day with smiles on their faces and an unbridled enthusiasm for learning. I am truly blessed!

Most of my students need to be up and moving more than a few times during a sometimes frustrating, 90 minute class period.

I am forever looking for ways to keep students focused, engaged, and active.

My Project

I am asking for a Wii U Game System, a variety of games, a We Sing Microphone, Tekdeals 3-in-1 Charger Dock Charging Station Base, Insten Dual Charging Station, and 4 remotes will be used to reward student work well done by offering meaningful "break" time activities, and will provide an active alternative to P.E when going outdoors is not possible.

The Wii U game system will increase student academic success, self esteem, team work, and physical fitness goals throughout the school day."

Having the Wii game system will help improve student focus during individual learning and instructional time. With less behavioral and "off task" issues, we can increase our learning and time "on task" while having fun at school.
