Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As this new year begins, many of my students are struggling to focus. I have done research as to the best way to help students with a lot of energy and I came across flexible seating many times. These flexible seating stools would benefit students and make a world of difference in their learning. Some students need to be moving around to help process information and these stools allows students to wobble side to side, forward and backward, bounce, rock, and stand" also known as active seating". Being able to move around increases oxygen flow to the brain. Students are not able to move around as much in the regular chairs provided to us. Flexible seating can also benefit my students by allowing them to feel relaxed and comfortable in the learning environment. By giving students the choice to sit on a regular chair or a flexible stool, students will feel empowered by having some control over their environment.
My goal with this project is to provide the best seating choices for my energetic and brilliant students through flexible seating.
My students are kind, hardworking, and enthusiastic. Many are English language learners that have traveled from Spanish speaking countries. These stools would help my students better focus while feeling comfortable and able to learn actively.
