Wiggly Bums Need a Seat Too!

My students need these additional yoga balls to ensure all my wigglers have an option. Currently I have 12 balls for a classroom of 24 to 30 students. There are never enough yoga balls for all.

My Students

My Junior CSI students come from the local community and rural farms. Approximately 60% of the kids are on Free & Reduced programs. My students are a blend of different cultures and family backgrounds with about 65% of my 450 students being girls. My 6th graders are participating in a 9 week sampler CSI curriculum. My 7th & 8th graders are spending an entire semester learning crime scene investigation. New this year, I am also able to offer an Advance level semester course for 7th graders who successful completed the 6th grade program last year. All of my students selected this elective course and want to take the program.

My Project

I have found through the use of Yoga Balls as alternative seating, many of my energetic students are able to focus better and actually concentrate on their work when we are at our desks. I have personally funded 7 balls and parents have donated 8 others. But in a classroom of 30 students every 45 minutes, I am seeking to acquire 15 more yoga balls.

Giving the wigglers an option that keeps them at their seats makes for a successful classroom.

My kids take great pride in our classroom and care for yoga balls too. Having enough for every student would make a huge improvement to their ability to concentrate more regularly and stay in their seats.
