Our classroom is a place where 20-second graders come to learn, play, and share with one another.
Our work is important and relevant.
Our relationships with one another are long-lasting. Our classroom is filled with compassionate, bright, and energetic learners who are becoming more and more independent each day. We love to learn by doing. We love to be busy. I love watching my students fall in love with learning and who they are as learners.
Part of helping students become strong learners is providing choice in the classroom. I try to offer various learning places in our room and provide opportunities for children to explore learning in those places. Incorporating more flexible seating options will help boost my students' learning.
My Project
Young children's bodies need to move and wiggle as they learn. When they are comfortable in their learning space they are better able to learn.
The requested Kore Wobble Chairs and Trideer Wobble cushions will provide my students with options at their desks, classroom tables, and carpet areas.
They will use the wobble chairs during small reading groups. Providing more comfortable seating will increase their excitement for learning about reading. They will also be able to use these materials while playing math games with a partner, working on stories during Writer's Workshop, and sorting words during Word Work time. Providing more comfortable flexible seating will increase my student's excitement for learning across all subjects!
The flexible seating items will be used throughout our school day.
