Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am currently employed at a Title I school that has a high number of children from low-income families.
92.7% of the student population qualifies for free and reduced price lunch.
My students are enrolled in the dual-language program where they receive instruction in both English and Spanish. They come from a low income community with struggling families.
The majority of my students are English Language learners and are motivated and hardworking. They are in need of a variety of seating options that will allow them to have choices for seating while working in small groups.
My Project
My students are always excited to learn, but with limited funding it is hard to provide my students with all of the materials they need to successfully learn the standards being taught.
My students are in need of a variety of seating options during reading centers, small groups and independent time.
I want to bring more seating opportunities for my 36 students. We need Wobble Chairs that will allow them a little movement while they sit. By having more flexible sitting options, my students will be more engaged in the class, and they will perform better. My students will have the opportunity to choose their seats every day during their independent work and for any activity throughout the day.
By creating a choice in seating, my students will be able to focus more on their learning. Flexible seating will allow my students to SUCCEED!
