My students need a safe way to express themselves physically and emotionally, by providing alternative seating the students will be able to focus their extra energies. We need bouncy bands.

My Students
I am a fifth grade teacher in a low socioeconomic community, in a classroom with students with students trying to learn English or how to better control their emotional responses. My students come to school every day with a lot on their minds from home.
This makes it difficult for my students to completely focus on their academics while at school, before even factoring in the language and emotional barriers.
I make it my personal job to create an environment that makes it easier to guide their thoughts to only what is going on in our classroom.
Often times my students need to take unplanned breaks mid-day, or move or stand while they are completing an assignment. They need ways to wiggle and work through their emotions without creating a disruption. My goal is to supply my students with readily available resources in the room in order for them to focus and learn to the best of their ability.
I plan to make my classroom a welcoming, comfortable, and efficient environment for learning for each and every student that enters my classroom.
My Project
My students need to move and they are going to find ways to move. They may get out of their seat, which causes issues for those behind them. They may start tapping pencils and pens on the desk, which causes issues for those who repetitive sounds bothers. They may start swinging their legs, which causes them to kick their neighbor. If I do not provide ways for my students to move, they will find them, and their ways are often distractions for others.
By providing my students ways to move without creating a distraction, they will be able to work through the wiggles and focus more on their learning.
The seats will provide options for students who need to wiggle without being a distraction. The bouncy bands will be given to every student who needs one, because even the quiet kids need the movement.
My goal is that by providing alternatives, our wiggling and fidgeting can work for us instead of creating distractions and behavioral issues.
