My second graders are enthusiastic balls of energy that love to learn! They are curious and eager to learn about the world around them. My goal is to offer a learning setting that is inviting, interactive, efficient, and safe.
My students thrive in an engaging environment that offers choice and promotes learning.
We live in a small, supportive, close-knit, agricultural community. A majority of my students receive a free or reduced price lunch and all of the students in our school receive a free breakfast and snack. Our school is a central part of our community that families and students are excited to be involved with and attend.
My Project
My students love to move around and have various seating choices in the classroom. My green and yellow monkey-themed classroom is inviting and different seating options allow students to choose a comfortable learning spot to best suit their needs.
Donations for this project will allow me to provide floor cushions and stools for standing desks and enhance student learning.
Many of my students love to sit on the floor to use Chromebooks, read, or to complete their work with a clipboard. These floor cushions will make it more comfortable for students to do that. Some students are better able to focus when standing or moving at a desk and wiggle stools will give these active kids the choice to sit or stand when working. Floor cushions and wiggle stools will provide my students with more options than what I currently have available.
Flexible seating provides my students with the opportunity to make their learning more personal and enhance our positive learning environment.
