Wiggling Bodies Need Approachable Books!

Help me give my students decodable books and seats for their wiggly bodies! The primary phonics set will help my struggling readers have more options to feel successful with reading.

My Project

Students with learning disabilities often struggle to stay focused, even when the books are at an approachable level. My goal is to give my students books that they can read, as well as flexible seating to allow their wiggles to move about.

Decodable readers are controlled texts, meaning each word follows a pattern, and can be decoded once the student has been explicitly taught the rule.

Most books in 'leveled libraries' are not decodable, often have words that can only be read by looking at the picture, or asking an adult. This does not support a students reading skills! I want to be able to flood my students libraries with books they can read!

Sitting in a classroom for longer than 30 minutes without being able to move is challenging for most people, and even worse for kiddos who are struggling to focus or read. Allowing them the freedom to choose a comfier option, or to move their bodies appropriately is something that I do not have in my classroom! My students are eager to learn, and your donations will help support them!
