My Students

I teach third grade, and my students are 8-9 years old. We opened up a brand new elementary school during a pandemic! My students are hard workers and are very resilient. They learn from their mistakes and work hard. I am amazed at how much my students can grow every single day! Third grade rocks!

My Project

My students would flourish from having flexible seating and options for seating that allows them to freely move. This type of seating and options will allow students to move and focus on the task at hand. For example, the wobble seats will allow for my students to move around the class comfortably while working with their classmates.

Providing students with various options for seating gives them the opportunity to pick the best environment that will help them well them focus and flourish.

Another aspect to creating a space that students can grow and flourish in is our classroom community. As the year begins I would love to have certain tools and literature that will help build and strengthen our classroom community. Each picture book helps teach a lesson from how to work together for a common goal to learning self worth and embracing differences. One tool I am eager to utilize is using Hedbandz to have students practice their inferencing skills and working together to help one another be successful. I can't wait to use the other tools to help students be motivated to be their best self and work together!
