Wigglin' through First Grade with Flexible Seating!
My students need the Norwood Commercial Furniture Plastic Stack Stools because they would sit on these everyday at my teacher table, and they would love the wobble cushions for the different sensory feel!
What makes First grade special? I love teaching First grade, because they are just now learning how to read and when they learn to read they take off reading everything. They have a lot of energy and are so full of life! They are still eager to learn and they always try their hardest to please not only me but everyone else around them.
Although I am the teacher, my kids help me learn new things daily about my teaching and just me as a teacher in general.
Even though it is the summer, I haven't met my students yet, but a teacher doesn't rest in the summer. I know the kids coming up into 1st grade from having experience of teaching at this school last year. However I am wanting to transform my classroom for them to make learning even more exciting!
My Project
Implementing flexible seating into the classroom allows students to have choice in their seating arrangements. The Norwood Commercial Furniture Plastic Stack Stools will be effect at my teacher table because students will not have time to slouch and get tired, which will help them be more engaged in the lesson.

There are many times throughout the day that my students are allowed to sit where they want. We have an independent station within our centers.
During this independent time, my students will be able to take their center and choose the Liytle Kid Mats, the Wobble Cushions, or any other flexible seating that is available to complete their work. I have noticed when I allowed my students to sit where they wanted to in the classroom they were more engaged in their work. It has been proven by research that when students are active in their learning they are more successful. I try to think about myself in meetings, I become uncomfortable in a seat that doesn't fit my needs which leads me to not want to pay attention. Incorporating this flexible seating will allow them to not only move around while learning, but they are learning in comfort.
