Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach a beautiful group of K–2 students with autism in an intensive needs setting. Each of my students brings their own strengths, unique communication styles, and sensory needs into our classroom. What I love most about them is their joy in hands-on exploration, their incredible resilience, and the way they light up when they feel calm, safe, and successful.
The resources in this project are carefully chosen to help support my students' sensory regulation, emotional expression, and social-emotional growth.
The sensory rocker, trampoline, and LED bubble aquarium offer calming sensory input for students who need help self-regulating throughout the day. The magnetic and building toys, including STEM pipes and LEGOs, give students opportunities to practice fine motor skills, creativity, and cooperative play. Tools like the emotions coin drop and calming corner visuals help students learn to identify and express their feelings in a safe, supported way.
With these resources, I can create a more inclusive, responsive classroom environment that supports mental health and helps my students feel secure, engaged, and ready to learn. Every item will be used during structured lessons, individual work time, and calming breaks to help each child grow socially, emotionally, and academically.v
