Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My second grade students are dedicated, curious, and eager to learn every day. They come to school with big hearts and even bigger dreams, ready to tackle new challenges with determination and enthusiasm. Despite any obstacles they may face outside the classroom, they show up each day willing to try their best and support one another. To keep growing as learners, they need access to the right supplies—tools that will help them stay engaged, organized, and confident in their learning. With the right resources such as books and flexible seating, I know they can reach their full potential and continue to thrive.
Flexible seating will give my students the freedom to choose learning spaces that best support their focus, comfort, and engagement throughout the day.
Many second graders have a natural need to move, and traditional desks don’t always accommodate that. By offering seating options like wobble stools, floor cushions, and chair bands, students can channel their energy in productive ways while staying on task. Flexible seating also promotes collaboration, responsibility, and a sense of ownership over their learning environment, helping each student feel more confident and empowered in the classroom.
