My students need personal space for full group instruction. Pre-k students often have extra energy and sometimes have trouble staying focused. The cube chairs will allow all to have their own space in our classroom community.

My Students

I teach Pre-kindergarten for Anne Arundel County Public schools. Pre-K caters to children who are economically challenged. The majority of my students receive free or reduced-price lunch. For many, this is their first opportunity to be in a structured environment. There are 23 children in my class, and we are in great need of materials to increase and stimulate learning.

Pre-kindergarteners thrive in environments which cater to their internist and needs.

In addition, my students are provided an environment that fosters language, literacy, and many opportunities to work together to build a classroom community.

My Project

I have 23 Pre-kindergarten children in my class. Pre-kindergarten students are full of energy and ready to learn. They love coming to school and interacting with each other. They do, however, have trouble with personal space.

Twenty-three students sitting in a small square on the carpet leads to unnecessary incidents which could be avoided.

The cube chairs give the children their own space to sit and to use as their own table for large group instruction.

In my class there are multiple ways I use manipulatives for hands-on learning. The cube chairs/tables allow the students to work together while keeping their supplies organized in their own space.
