My Project

My students are struggling readers, and they often wiggle in their seats or tip their chairs. It can be very difficult to sit still when doing difficult work! I currently have flexible seating in the form of yoga ball chairs and wiggle seat cushions, and these would make a fantastic addition to our classroom. There are so many times when I am working with a student that they are kicking their feet (gently!) and wiggling in their seats. These stools would help them keep their feet on the floor and engage their core while learning.

Flexible seating is known to help students engage in their learning.

I love when students get excited about the opportunity to choose what type of seat they use, and having choices gives students the feeling of control within their environment.
