I teach at WSP, which is a Title I school where most of my students receive free or reduced priced lunch and many live in single parent households or with grandparents. My students are faced with many challenges both in and outside of the classroom. Many of my students have limited experiences outside of their small community. Despite the many challenges they face, I am working to create a comfortable and safe learning environment in order to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning opportunities.
My students are very eager to learn and are ADD/ADHD.
I am in need of alternative learning options for seating. My students have the desire to learn, however their need to move hinders them from reaching their maximum capabilities.
My Project
My students are simply amazing! They deserve the very best; however, due to my students ADD/ADHD, they need new seating options so they can wiggle while they work. As a second year teacher, it is difficult to offer a variety of flexible seating options with a limited budget.
It is with your help that I hope to transform my classroom into a flexible seating classroom.
The wobble chairs and balance balls will give my students an opportunity to have consistent movement without disturbing the other students. I believe that these new seating options will greatly help my students sore in their learning.
