Worrying about food, money, transportation, and clothing are adult worries, yet many of the students at my school face these "grown-up" problems each day. In spite of the challenges they face, they constantly rise to the occasion and frequently blow me away with their ability to learn.
My students come from a wide variety of backgrounds.
Our school has a very high ESOL population and free/reduced lunch. Some have, and some do not. It is my job to level their playing field so that all have a chance to be successful.
Through a hands-on, exciting, and active learning environment, my kindergarten students strive to do their best every day. My students are active, excited, super sweet kindergarteners who love to learn!
My Project
Do you remember having to sit still in hard school chairs as a child . . . or even now as an adult? Sitting this way is not only uncomfortable, but it can be detrimental to health and wellness. Children now, more than ever, have trouble focusing when sitting still, and recent research abounds in the area of action-based, whole brain learning.
These wobble cushions will provide students with a more comfortable seat while working at the tables and on the carpet.
They improve energy levels while strengthening core stability muscles. These cushions allow students the flexibility of movement without being distractive. When used as a wiggle seat, the cushions provide sensory input, help children stay focused, and sit still.
