My Project

I love the idea of implementing flexible seating in my classroom! I want my students to be able to learn in an environment that is most comfortable for them. I plan on using these Active Chairs during my guided reading lessons and small group instruction. These are some of most important parts of the day because students are working very closely with the teacher and they need to be attentive. Therefore, I want this time to be as effective as possible. The cushions can be used both at the students' desks and on the floor around the classroom during independent and group work along with the hand and feet sensory items.

Research shows that not only is flexible seating fun, but it helps students to stay focused, increases their sense of well-being, increases their balance, strengthens their posture and engages students in learning!

With Active Chairs and Cushions, and hand/feet fidgets, students will have the opportunity to wiggle while they are working, which will allow them to remain both attentive and on-task during the lesson. They are going to be thrilled to have these in our classroom!
