I am a 1st grade resource special education teacher at an elementary school. In my classroom, we love having flexible seating options! This allows my students a to get their wiggles out while completing their classwork. These seat choices would be a great asset to our classroom to allow my students to wiggle while they work. My students will be thrilled to have these options in our classroom.
When students have a choice in how and where they learn, it builds trust and respect in their classroom.
Letting kids sit where they choose helps them learn to self advocate and make decisions in their own learning. Giving an assortment of flexible seating will help my students be more comfortable and focused on their school work. I am also not a homeroom reacher so I do not get enough supplies to last the entire school year.
