I have 6 awesome students ranging in grades 3rd-4th. My class is one of two classes in our district for students with Autism. We love learning! My students are visual, hands-on learners who deserve the best academic experience possible!
We spend our days learning about academic subjects, social skills, and we all mainstream into general education classes to further our social skills and make new friends.
Our school was the 36th school internationally to receive STEM certification and we are a STEAM school.
My Project
My students need flexible seating so they can work in different areas of the classroom and be more productive. Bouncy bands will help my students focus and get their wiggles out while working at their desk. A flex-space classroom storage bench will allow my students who have a hard time focusing sit near our Promethean board so I can be sure they are focused while I am teaching. The storage bench will also help us to keep our classroom more organized with the storage it provides. The reading comprehension instant learning center will add to our reading station and help my students work on their comprehension skills.
