My Students

I teach in an urban school district at a Title I school. 100% of our students qualify for free breakfast and lunch. My students are eager to learn. I enjoy teaching them daily and watching for teachable moments when the students grasp the concept or social skill personally. They are hard working students and want to learn. I strive to provide a calm, peaceful and engaging environment for our students through mindful moments and brain gym exercises on a daily basis.

My Project

Many of my students need frequent movement daily. These wobble chairs will help them have the movement available to them consistently during classroom work time. I have one wobble chair currently and have seen the benefit for my one student. I look forward to providing the acceptable movement with adding more wobble chairs in my classroom in the fall. Research shows that students who have the freedom to move about freely are more motivated and engaged in their own learning. By donating to this project you will ultimately help increase their academic achievement by providing a comfortable classroom environment daily.
