My Students

I work with an amazing group of students who come from diverse backgrounds and learning needs.
My students come from all corners of the globe and carry real-world knowledge into my classroom on a daily basis. As a result, we have rich, higher-level discussions that many fifth grade teachers would envy. With this experience comes needs that the pencil and paper medium cannot accommodate. These students crave sensory learning and our curriculum worksheets just won't cut it anymore!
My Project
My students need twenty-four stability balls and rings to keep students focused on the task at hand, while being able to get their "wiggles out." This increases student engagement and learning. As the Common Core is fully implemented, our science standards need to be addressed in a hands-on type of learning. Using the stream table, students will be able to simulate weathering, erosion, flooding, and other impacts nature can have on our Earth's surface.
Students must be able to connect their learning to something concrete, both of these resources will be able to reach the needs of my amazing students and help them reach their full educational potential.
