My Students

The district in which I teach is low-income with about 76% qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch. My classroom consists of nearly all students meeting the criteria of low income. All students in the district receive free breakfast and lunch.

Within my classroom there are twenty-four students of all learning needs and styles.

I strive to meet the needs of each child in my class and understand that no two students are the same.

Students are in need of alternative seating options/wiggle seats to help maintain focus. This pandemic has prevented traditional means of teaching and learning, which means teachers and students will need to adapt to their new environment. There are new needs for teachers and students, alike. Students student to remain focused and need help getting out the wiggles while learning.

My Project

Concentration and focus will improve with a simple and quiet active seating wiggle cushion. The cushions provide a calming influence while increasing focus.

Increases Focus: Kids can expel excess energy while seated, enabling greater concentration in school.

Calming Influence: Flexible nubs on one side and smaller bumps on the other give a choice for just the right amount of tactile stimulation.

Improves Posture: Ergonomic disc causes the body to stabilize itself, improving core strength and posture.

Some students need to wiggle that extra energy away so learning is the main focus of the day.
