This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Flexible seating options are important for so many reasons. They allow students to be the most comfortable in their classroom. Also, students learn better through the use of flexible seating options. Furthermore, flexible seating can help students to build core strength.
Research shows that movement and cognitive development are linked, meaning that these seats will positively impact student learning outcomes!
The seats that I am requesting specifically in this project are floor seats. I've observed that many of my students prefer to work on the ground and sometimes are uncomfortable sitting cross-legged on the carpet. These chairs will be excellent additions to our classroom by allowing students to sit comfortably on the floor while they are working in whole group settings, in small groups, with partners, or during independent work time. Another great benefit of these chairs is that the material makes them easy to sanitize!
I know that my students will love these floor seats and that we will make great use of them daily!
