Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My Super Scholars are an amazing bunch of second-graders, striving to do their best. Although they face difficulties, they come to school and work hard. Some days this is harder to do than others, but still, they make an effort.

My Super Scholars are learning that their beginning does not determine their end.

Many are from a low socioeconomic background, and some have had traumatic experiences. However, they are learning to use their experiences as motivation to achieve their goals.

My Project

In our Learning Lab, scholars are allowed to choose a flexible seating option that will allow them to do their best work. Several options are available as part of our "Home Away from Home" theme, however, some scholars need an option that allows them to move a bit to put forth their best effort.

Sitting still for an extended amount of time is not an easy task, especially for younger scholars.

The wobble stools would allow them to move, as they complete their activities, without distracting others. The ability to move about will also increase scholars' focus and minimize disruptions.
