I teach in a low income school district where 100% of our students get free breakfast and lunch every day. In my classroom, we all learn through hands-on experiences and activities. I am hoping to provide my students who love to learn with many meaningful opportunities that they will always remember. I cannot control their lives at home, but at school I can provide them with learning experiences that will inspire them to love school and set them up for success.
My Project
Flexible seating is very popular right now! My classroom is set up for students to move around so that they can learn in their best environment. We already have a few flexible seating choices but could use more so that every student has a place.
Flexible seating allows students to choose a spot and chair that helps their do their best work.
Allowing students to wiggle and get their anxiety and energy out while they do seat work helps them learn. They improve a lot more quickly when they are comfortable and are able to truly focus. This is why flexible seating is very important and why many teachers are turning their rooms into flexible seating friendly places.
