My Students

I have 27 students that come from different backgrounds that come to my classroom with a variety of emotional and intellectual needs. They are a caring group of students that love to interact with each other and help in anyway they can. I recently obtained an injury that prevents me from moving around the classroom easily and they could not have stepped up more to the plate. They are quick to help and keep our learning environment healthy and happy.

My Project

I have invested this year in two tactile wobble seats earlier this year as I noticed my students had a hard time concentrating during class even for short amounts of time. I immediately saw a difference in their engagement. With only two to share among my 27 students I wish I had more to share!

I am requesting one more wobble cushion, some bands for students to bounce their feet against, and two wobble seats.

These materials will make a difference in my students' learning by allowing them to move their bodies as they learn. Physical movement is a critical aspect to learning and while I haven't quite mastered the art of teaching and having them move the whole day this is certainly a step in the right direction with providing more opportunities for them to wiggle their bodies throughout the day.
