Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a second grade inclusion teacher in a low income/ high poverty school my goal is that all students come to school feeling safe, supported, and eager to learn. I am looking to give my students meaningful, creative and unique learning experiences.

My students are enthusiastic, adventurous, and brave.

Many of our families came to the United States in search of a better education. Despite the many challenges each of our students face, they come to school eager to learn, ready to be challenged, and full of thoughtful questions. Each student deserves a chance to express themselves and be successful in their own way.

My Project

I am asking for two non-slip exercise balls, a set of stools and a Mobile Storage Cart with a Learning Dry Erase Easel. These materials will make a difference in students' learning because it will give them a choice! Flexible seating will allow my students to channel their energy and focus on their work rather than where they are sitting or the distractions surrounding them.

You have a voice so you have a choice and these seating options will allow my students the opportunity to advocate for themselves when they need a better seating option.

We have three Hokki stools and we want to add to our flex seating options.

I am also requesting a mobile cart. This teacher cart will help with organization in my class. Since I teach in an inclusion room, there are many adults who come into the classroom to support our students. They need a clear, and accessible space to work. This cart will allow the teachers to be mobile and also to be able to teach and support their small groups.
