Wiggle While We Learn: Flexible Seating & Literacy Boosters

Help me give my students flexible seating options and science of reading- aligned manipulatives that will boost their focus, engagement, and support reading comprehension.

My Project

Many of my students benefit from movement, hands-on learning, and differentiated instruction. Traditional seating can limit their ability to focus, especially those with attention challenges or sensory needs. Flexible seating like balance balls will allow my students to choose where and how they learn best—improving concentration, self-regulation, and comfort.

In addition, the Science of Reading- aligned materials will help to break down complex tasks.

These supports are essential for building comprehension skills for English Language Learners and students with learning differences.

Meeting my students' sensory and comfort needs can reduce the likelihood of meltdowns, frustration, or fidgeting-related distractions, thus creating a classroom where all students are empowered to learn in ways that work for them.
