First graders come to school with excitement and enthusiasm for learning. They jump into projects, rush through and are ready to move on to the next. My students have a lot of energy! They are very active, often falling out of their seats or need to work standing up.
My students will benefit from having a variety of seating options to assist them in completing their work.
When they are comfortable, they can focus better. Every student is different and requiring them to sit in a chair all day is not conducive to their learning. When they have options they can spread out and wiggle their bodies while they work to help them stay focused.
My Project
Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make choices that work best for them. It encourages students to find their best spot to stay calm, focused and productive. Flexible seating allows them to wobble, rock, and bounce which increases oxygen flow to the brain, blood flow and core strength.
My students are more engaged in their learning and less disruptive with their peers when they are given the opportunity to choose where they work.
The products I have selected will help my students by giving them seating options to move their bodies while they work. The wobble chairs and the yoga balls will help my students to build their core muscles to maintain stability. Some of the benefits of these products include: improved posture and muscle tone, sensory input and energy burning, and increased blood flow. The results of flexible seating- a more active, engaged, enthusiastic, and relaxed room of students.
