Help me give my students inflatable wobble cushions. They typically have different textures on each side These seats improve posture, balance, core strength and as a result improve attention, have a calming effect and improve behavior.
I am a first year teacher to an amazing class of 3rd graders. My class is amazing and eager to learn. My students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!
Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly.
We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to learn each year!
My Project
Every student learns differently. To help my students learn I would love to give them wiggle seats. These wiggle seats are round inflated discs, most often seen in classrooms. They typically have different textures on each side, enabling the child to select his/her preference.
These seats improve posture, balance, core strength and as a result improve attention, have a calming effect and improve behavior.
Disc seats can vary in their benefits based on inflation. If the seat is fully inflated, the disc encourages balance and core engagement. Partially inflated, the disc provides greater movement therefore enabling more proprioceptive input.
