My students need wobble chairs, ball chairs, and stools to provide flexible seating for the classroom to assist them with concentration while engaging in academic and social learning.
My students consist of Pre-K Exceptional Education students that have a wide range of varying exceptionalities from Autism, Attention Deficit Disorder, Oppositional Defiance Disorder, Developmental Delays, and Language and Speech Impairments. My students ages range from three years old to five years old, with some being their first time ever in a school setting. My students have a passion for learning and enjoying coming to school to be with their friends and teachers! Everyday they show enthusiasm while learning academics, social skills and independent functioning.
My Project
The wobble chairs, exercise stability balls, donut stability balls and rolling stool will provide my students with several seating options. This will help the fidgety students have the movement that they so often seek, while still being seated and engaged in learning.
My students are sensory seeking students who need to move and fidget while learning.
A regular student chair doesn't provide the flexibility that my students need to access movement while still remaining on task and in the same location.
My students would greatly benefit from having some of the aforementioned seating available for them to utilize in our classroom.
