I have an amazing class this year. They are the most resilient, dedicated, and eager students I have worked with. As we learn and teach in a pandemic, they are receptive to the many changes we encounter daily and take on these challenges with such positive attitudes and happy faces. Our students attend a Title I school and come from a low-income area. Many of my students qualify for free or reduced-price lunches.
These students are eager to learn and love the excitement and joy of mastering new concepts.
Even with the challenges they are faced with today they still have a zest and an excitement to learn.
My Project
I have an active group of students this year who find it hard to stay in their seats and have the need for more movement throughout their day. These wiggle students will allow my class to have more choice as to where they sit and what they sit on. When they have more choice they are more engaged and willing to learn. They can move the seats easily around the room giving them the opportunity to choose how and where they will sit to complete their work. It will also allow them to get their wiggles out when needed and still stay engaged with the lesson.
The students will wiggle their way into good books as they learn to love reading!
Having a wide variety of books will increase their desire to read. I would love to be able to have them choose a good book to read and then take it home and cherish it forever!
