With the integration of the Arts through sewing and quilting, my students can find success in creating and learning a new skill. We will be able to research the history of our past using the iPad, design, cut, and use sewing machines to make quilts to tell the stories. This project will also integrate Math using measurement and basic math skills. By sewing and creating in our classroom, the students will be able to find happiness in learning and the desire to learn new things. I plan to tell the stories of the Civil War as we create quilt blocks to represent the different experience of our rich history. Students will also learn a life skill that they can use in the future if needed. Creating can build the confidence and success that a student needs for the rest of their life.
