My Students
The 4th graders at my school are a very enthusiastic bunch of kids! They love school and they love learning about every new idea. We are a Title I school in southeast San Francisco where the majority of the students are English language learners, and 84% are from low-socioeconomic family settings. As we come back to school following the pandemic they are really launching into academics to become stronger readers, writers, mathematicians, and scientists.
These students enjoy collaborating in every aspect of school (even virtually), whether on their reading and writing, or working together to uncover new math and science principles.
I love how much they want to help each other and learn about the world around them. They are kids learning more and more about their world, and they deserve opportunities to experience the broader world. As their teacher I am eager to support them in all of their learning.
My Project
After more than a year of school at home, a few of my students are struggling to adjust to not only the school setting, but specifically sitting at a desk. They have a few extra wiggles, that they don't know what to do with!
These Jellyfish and Ball Chairs are perfectly designed to help students like them find a way to both wiggle and stay focused at their desks.
In these chairs students can quietly bounce and make other small movements, while staying at their desks. This will help them to get what their bodies and minds need!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
