My Students
Our classroom is a group of 18 unique students who desperately want to learn and grow. With a school of a 95% of the students qualifying for free and reduced lunch, many of the students frequently move and their classroom and school is the most stable environment that they have. They consider their school and classroom their safe place. A place where they can go to have something of their own, a place where they can be themselves, a place where they can find comfort and joy everyday, no matter what.
My Project
Many of my students are used to moving and throughout the day, they are often expected to complete work at their desk or on the floor. Having alternative seating will allow the students to choose a cushion to keep them comfy and moving either on the floor or at their seat while they are doing their work.
They provide the sensory that the students need to be the best students that they can be.
Their will be a bin in which the seats will be stored and throughout the day if the student feels like they need to move, they can get the seat that they like best and continue working.
