My students are 3rd graders who haven't necessarily had the best lives and for many of them, the classroom is their most consistent home. We are in a school that is 89% free and reduced lunch, that is very diverse (59% African- American, 27% Asian, 3% Hispanic, 3% Native American and 8% Caucasian). Many of the students are behind in their grade levels but they all want to do well and have the ability to make HUGE gains!
