Wiggle and Wobble Your Way in Kindergarten!

My students need various flexible seating options to continue to grow, discover, and learn through movement. We will be in need of multiple stools, wobble chairs, and seat cushions.

My Students

This is my first year teaching in a district I have loved, volunteered, student taught, and grew up in. My Kindergarten classroom is filled with 28 diverse learners, each with their own abilities and needs. My students work in a variety of spaces that include self driven, peer, and teacher led instruction. Each and every one of them love engaging in partner work and hands on activities. The bubbly and energetic side of these 5 and 6 year olds continue to grow, discover, and learn new things each and everyday.

My Project

Five and six year olds have a lot of energy. They are continuously moving and working throughout the room at a table, on the carpet, with the teacher, and in the hallway. We are requesting flexible seating options will allow students to continue their learning while allowing movement.

Whether it's sitting on the floor with a scoop chair, or rocking on the wobble stool, all of these options will allow students to focus on their learning instead of their need to wiggle.

Each of these students need an outlet during those times without disrupting others. Students will be able to use these flexible seating options throughout the entire day during their small group learning, independent investigation during centers, or when at the carpet for our whole group lessons.
