My class consists of 21 Dual Language second graders. I have a bunch of fun, high energy students that love to create and explore.
In our classroom, teamwork is everything.
In our Two-Way Dual Language program, our native English and Spanish speaking students have the opportunity to learn, support and grow together as a team. Students in kindergarten begin instruction 90% in Spanish and 10% in English later leading to 50% Spanish and 50% English by the fourth grade. Students have a variety of learning styles and rates, therefore, ultimately it is my goal to find innovative ways to better meet and reach the needs of all of my students.
I absolutely love how caring and compassionate they are. They go above and beyond helping each other. My early finishers love taking on the role of "mini teacher" walking around the room with a dry erase board and marker to help out others any way they can. I feel very lucky and am truly grateful to have such a thoughtful group!
My class LOVES to move around. More seating and independent work options like the portable lap desks will enhance their focus and overall learning experiences. I have students that are easily distracted and that do not work well sitting down at their tables. Other students that prefer to work on the floor with a clipboard than being stuck in a chair and table. I have students that have a hard time sitting still and that need to be in some sort of constant movement.
These Wobble chairs will allow them to be engaged in their learning and still get their wiggles out.
They are in great need for flexible seating. These alternate seating options will help my students make effective learning choices and take charge of their learning.
