I teach a fun, energetic group first grade students in a public, suburban school in Wisconsin. They are excited to learn and come to school each day full of wonder and curiosity.

I enjoy making learning a fun, meaningful experience for my students. Each of my students learns differently and I strive to provide instruction and a learning environment that can meet the needs of all my students.
The school and district I teach in strive to see all students succeed. I love how dedicated the teachers and parents are. We all work together to help our students achieve.
My Project
As a teacher my goal is to see my students make progress and succeed in and out of the classroom. It is my job to deliver quality instruction to students and help them do their best to achieve academic goals. I feel students not only need quality instruction to be successful, but also a comfortable work environment. I hope to provide this to my students by offering them flexible seating options.
Just as all students learn differently, each student is comfortable working in a different position.
Some students can focus better while standing, while others would prefer to work sitting on the floor. Flexible seating offers students the choice of how they can work comfortably in order to stay focused and be successful. Some options I would like to offer my students include wiggle seats, kick bands to keep their legs moving, cushions for those who prefer to work on the floor, and balance balls.
There are many benefits of flexible seating in the classroom. It allows students to change their location and positions as needed. It allows students to focus on their work, not the uncomfortable chair they may be sitting in. Students also have the opportunity to work with others in the classroom as they are moving about and changing seating. Flexible seating can also teach students to be responsible for making choices that best help them learn and be successful.
