This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach 24 energetic, amazing and fabulous firsties in an urban Pre K-8th grade school. One hundred percent of my students receive free lunch and many of them come from families that are living well below the poverty line.
They are all so special because they always come to school with smiles on their faces, eager and ready to learn no matter what the circumstances may be at home.
That type of enthusiasm and willingness to learn inspires me to do and want more for them.
My Project
My first graders are smart, inquisitive and focused learners. Sometimes, even the most focused child needs the option to choose the type of seating that is just right for them.
Flexible seating will help my students by giving them additional seating options to make more effective learning choices.
Wobble stools are adjustable and will allow students to sit at their desks, or at the guided reading table but will still allow some movement. Student choice would definitely have a positive affect on my student's work.
These will be extremely beneficial for some students that just need to get the wiggles out!
