My Students

We have 20 busy learners in our classroom. With a wide variety of abilities in different areas, our class benefits from working together. I love how many different backgrounds and opinions my students have to share. This strength can also be a hindrance on our learning. We have many students that need help to focus in order to participate well in class. Flexible seating gives kids an opportunity to sit somewhere in a way that is best for their learning.

My Project

Our wiggly bodies will have the right tools to focus our energy on reading! It is hard for young children to sit “properly” in a typical chair for 7 hours a day. Having different choices that allow students a variety of ways to sit while still being appropriate, gives our classroom the opportunity to thrive and focus on the really important things. Flexible seating is a great way for teachers to meet the needs of individual students as well! One teacher meeting the needs of all students can sometimes be difficult. If simply changing a chair can help, why wouldn’t we?
