Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The second grade students in my class are loving, bright, curious and eager learners who get excited to come to school each day. They are part of our small school of approximately 400 students in a nurturing and supportive environment which we call our family. We offer free breakfast to our students and many qualify for free lunch. Because we are a small school, we have a limited budget and appreciate the great opportunity that Donor's Choose provides to us.
My Project
Flexible seating wobble cushions come with a nubbly surface that will provide an accommodating seating option. They allow students to wiggle and wobble while they learn to help get out extra energy so their brains can focus.
Being able to move around on a sensory surface has been proven to help fidgety students focus and stay alert.
Since the cushions are mobile, they will allow my students to meet anywhere in the classroom. My students will be able to work on their STEAM projects and work in their reading and writing groups.
