This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students all come from low-income households and school is their place to interact with others their age. It is also where they get to engage with other adults since most have families where their parents are working almost all day. Our school is small and resources for our students are not easily accessible. But despite that, our preschoolers are always eager to learn and come to school.

We allow them to become who they want to become as they begin their journey to Kindergarten and towards their future.

My Project

We are requesting new chairs to replace the old ones we have. I want my children to work in our centers and be able to sit comfortably without telling me that their back or bottoms are hurting them. The chairs we have now are cracked, stained and in dire need of replacement. Many of my children come from low-income homes and some don't even have their own room or own belongings. I want to provide them with a place where they not only feel safe, but they feel comfortable as well. These chairs will bring more light to the classroom and will encourage and inspire my children to want to work in centers.
