My Project

I work for a Title One school, meaning that most of our students are from lower income families. For the past year or so I have been trying to add books about diversity and inclusion into our library system, but the going is slow. Books are expensive and with a limited budget I am not able to purchase all the books that I would like to have available for our students. I believe exposing students to diversity early on allows them to be more accepting and loving as they get older. I also believe it makes a huge difference in a child's life to be able to read and see themselves in different books. No matter what they struggle with, they then feel like someone understands. Please help us purchase more diverse books for out school!
