My students are a fun and diverse group of children! Though, for many, the time they spend at school is the most stable and safe part of their day. But, despite the struggles some of these children may face at home, they embrace learning with arms wide open! They help make teaching so much fun. Our class is just like a family, we lovee each other and we want to take care of each other, and we are able to do that by creating an environment where they feel safe and free to explore and learn.
My Project
In Kindergarten we spend a lot of our time during the day on the carpet. In elementary the carpet is the place where you start the day and usually the place where you end your day. During our morning meetings we talk about our weekends and how we are feeling that morning, and throughout the day we gather to gain something new. My students spend a large portion of their day on the carpet. This carpet will help provide us a fun, but also structured the space. This will help the children understand where they can sit and help them see that they have a special place to come during the day that is just for them!
