My Students

As a teacher in a high poverty school district, I work with students that are faced with challenges in and outside the classroom. Despite the challenges my students face, they persevere. My students are high energy, communicative, and enthusiastic learners. They have a lot of energy and are always looking for a fun way to learn. They love to get involved with the lesson in whatever way possible.

My students love to show off their work and teach their peers.

They are excited to teach each other, both in groups and in front of the class. My students are visual learners. They love to use different resources in the room to show learning strategies to their friends. The students are a great group of mathematicians, scientists, writers, ​and artists.

My Project

Point of view can be a hard subject for students to understand and even hard if you don't have books available to demonstrate the different types of point of view. Many times to hear a point of view that is not first person in class we have to watch a video someone has posted on YouTube because we don't have the book in class.

Having picture books on hand that student can buddy read or that can be used as read aloud is great way to integrate point of view into our everyday book conversation.

These books will be able to join the pictures books we have in class to be used in everyday reading and for our point of view lessons.
