Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students all come from the poorest neighborhoods in the city of Boston. My third graders are the sweetest and hardest working children! They love to learn, read, and write. They make me proud every day!
My classroom is an ESL classroom, where all my students speak other languages at home.
They are all new immigrants to the United States and many of them have had limited or interrupted schooling in their home countries. They enjoy coming to school each day to learn English and make friends.

Goldfish, Pretzels and Nutri-Grain bars are perfect treats for hungry students!
Providing my students with a tub full of yummy snacks to eat when they are hungry is the perfect answer for rumbling tummies. Everyone knows that children work best when their bellies are full and they are comfortable. My students all get a free hot lunch, however, very few of them come to school with a snack to eat mid-morning. It is very difficult to work on challenging and rigorous material when all you can think about is lunch!
