My students need an ipod to practice reading comprehension through AR quizzes. In order to charge it, they need a charger cord and charger.

My Students

My wonderful group of students has limitless curiosity and an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. They are fascinated by technology, but have very little access at our school.

My class is an amazing group of 28 third graders.

Our school is a public charter school, dedicated to fostering a love of the arts in our students. Students pay nothing to attend school and receive lessons in dance and music, and many visual arts disciplines, in addition to all state-mandated curriculum. Parents are required to spend 30 hours per year serving the school, which helps to create a real family-friendly learning environment. Our students also each do 15 hours of community service per year, teaching them the importance of helping others.

My Project

I am requesting 1 iPod Touch with a charger and cord, so my students can access a wide range of educational applications and programs that will make learning fun and high-tech! In addition to apps that disguise basic math and grammar skill practice as fun games, we can use the internet capabilities of the iPod to access some great programs my district already pays for, such as Accelerated Reader. Also, since iPods have a camera function, my already-dramatic students will be able to record and edit the many plays and performances they already do throughout the year, and share them on our class webpage. I'm also excited to have students use iPods to watch our school videos in math and personalize their learning to their needs.

My students deserve every opportunity to learn more about our world.

They love technology and are always begging for more access to computers, but we just don't have the technology at our school. Please help my students!
