This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom consists of 24 eager sixth graders.They are ready to learn how to organize and be responsible for their own learning. My students would really benefit from mailboxes to help organize their classwork and homework. It will also create a learning environment focusing on cleanness.
They are 24 sixth graders in the inner city.
My students are enthusiastic and eager to succeed. Most of these kids are from impoverished areas and they receive free breakfast, free lunch and a fruit snack in the afternoon. I teach in a self-contained sixth grade classroom. My kids are awesome. I recently made a grade change from third to sixth and to my surprise I fell in love with these kids. I saw that even students at this age level were still so young and really need our guidance. I work in a school that is only eight years old. We have working computers in the classroom as well as chromebooks. I would really appreciate some help, assisting the students with their organizational skills. Dismissal is ofter a very hectic time of the day for the kids, as they are busy trying to get all the necessary work they need to take home. Using these mailboxes would be very beneficial to my students. I can't afford to buy them myself so I am reaching out to the donors.
My Project
As the students are dismissed they can collect all resources necessary to complete assignments. The students will learn how to organize by using these mailboxes as their "going home" place to collect homework and important papers going home. The students will be very appreciative.
These mailboxes will improve my classroom because students' work will be organized in one place.
Organization and completing assigned work is key to the students success. Having these mailboxes will create a better, more appealing look in the classroom.
